The United States and Canada Make Online Gambling News

Recently, some notable online gambling changes have been happening in both the United States and Canada

The U.S. State of New Jersey has been in the news a lot lately.  New Jersey has continually made efforts to legalize and regulate intrastate online gambling.  At the beginning of March, in spite of being opposed by the horse racing lobby, the new online gambling bill proposed by New Jersey’s Senator met the approval of the Senate Government and Wagering Committee.

Although the bill passed, there are still issues. The reason for this is the constitution of New Jersey mandates that all forms of gambling, with the exception of horse racing and lotteries, take place in Atlantic City.

In Ontario, Canada, a six year plan was announced for land based and online gambling in the province that is expected to generate $1.3 million (CAD) in provincial tax profits.  Ontario intends to build a new land based casino, as well as launch an internet gaming site.
