Amended US Online Gaming Law Positively Effects Gambling Industry

Not long ago, the US Department of Justice amended its online betting law so that it only applies to internet sports betting and not other forms of gambling, such as casino games. For the first time, US states will be allowed to legalize online gambling.

While this certainly has had a significant impact on the gaming sector, the best way to determine how much of an impact is to look to the stock market.

Foreign online gaming operators, as well as land based casino operators, have felt the recent climb in share prices.  As a result, some of the major operators, such as 888 and William Hill have seen their shares increase – William Hill by 3.2% and 888 by 9%.  Meanwhile, other huge operators, like Ladbrokes, Wynn Resorts, and Bally Technologies, have also experienced a similar rise in share value.

So far, it appears the reinterpretation of the US law will benefit the global gambling industry, both online and offline, as a whole.
