Schleswig-Holstein’s Online Gambling Bill Aprroved

The German State, Schleswig-Holstein finally got its online gambling bill approved. The European Commission did the approval last month. The bill was passed narrowly by the Parliament of Schleswig-Holstein.

Certain gambling parameters are allowed by the newly introduced legislation. These are poker, Sportsbook, and betting exchanges. Casino games also include in the list apart from baccarat, blackjack and roulette. The new law will start operating from January 1 next year. Licenses will be issued from March of the same year.

Betfair is a prominent German gambling operator. The legislation of Schleswig-Holstein is welcomed by the gambling operator. Betfair announced that it will apply for licenses. Betfair also said that, it is ready to pay the requisite taxes and offer safe gaming experiences to its patrons. Bwin.party also spoke on the same line. The gaming operator will also apply for licenses once the new rule comes into place. Shares of Bwin.party rose by 14% with the announcement of the online gambling legislation. The shares are recommended for buying.

Jaxx is another company willing to apply for licenses. It will do so for its online gambling products like casino games, poker and sports betting. The spokesperson of Jaxx, Mathias Dahms said that it is advisable for the rest of the 15 federal states to follow the model of Schleswig-Holstein.
