Centaur Requests Temporary Slots License for Valley View Downs

On July 10th, 2008, Centaur Incorporated is petitioning the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to grant them a temporary slots license for their planned Valley View Downs racing track and casino in Lawrence County. Gambling board spokesperson Richard McGarvey commented that the horse racing tracks located in Pennsylvania were granted conditional slots licenses and given permanent slots licenses later on.

McGarvey commented that the Valley View Downs wants the Pennsylvania Gaming Board to grant the horse racing track a conditional license at their next meeting in order to receive the money they needed for their establishments. Valley View Downs can found on Route 422 near the border of the state of Ohio.

The other issues on the Pennsylvania Gambling Board's agenda include the financial question on the Majestic Star Casino of Don Barden located on the North Shore area and the request of Meadows racetrack for a special permit in Washington County.

McGarvey commented that the Meadows racetrack is hoping to have seats not attached to the slot machines in their casino facility. The current Pennsylvania law requires casinos to have seats firmly attached to the slot machines.
