The Emerald Stars Casino Remodels Their Hotel

On April 13, 2007, the ringing of the hammers busy with ongoing construction replaced the ringing of the phone, which guests called in to make the reservations for the rooms at the ex-Ramada Inn Hilltop.

The brand new owners of the hotel have begun remodeling the Ramada Inn Hilltop by making a riverboat casino facility below the hotel. The new owners of the establishment, the Emerald Star Casino in Natchez, brought the former hotel in 2006. The owners already tore down the Ramada Inn Hilltop's bar and restaurant establishments and are planning to modify the whole building.

Bill Bayba, President of the Emerald Star Casino in Natchez, commented about 100 rooms in the hotel will be taken down and built all over again. The remodeling of the Ramada Inn Hilltop Hotel will take approximately 7 months and is expected to be completed by the end of 2007. The Brand new hotel will feature 130 hotel rooms and a convention facility.

The main plan of the management is for both the casino and the hotel, which will have around 400 employees combined, launching at the same time. The casino will feature around 850 h, 26 casino table games as well as a buffet for the customers, different restaurants and a retail shop.
