Lumiere Place Inspires Renovation Efforts in St. Louis

On December 20th, 2007, the debut of Pinnacle Entertainment's Lumiere Place brings a new casino player on the area, one that put down a total of $57 million in their bid to become the ultimate entertainment destination in St. Louis. Casino facilities in Missouri and Illinois express hope that they can keep their customers gambling with their offerings.

Pinnacle Entertainment Incorporated has developed the 7.5 acres on the Mississippi riverfront near the Gateway Arch. Pinnacle also called on Marnell Architecture, the firm that designed the Bellagio to design the look of the Lumiere Place. The Four Seasons and the HoteLumiere will open by the end of March 2007. The brand new casino has a gambling floor of 75,000 square feet, with 2,000 slot machines and 49 casino table games.

Popular chef Hubert Keller of Fleur de Lys has two restaurants inside the Lumiere Place. These are the Sleek, a steakhouse that is scheduled to open for business next year and the Burger bar where customers can pick from salmon, poultry, three kinds of beef and about forty kinds of burger toppings.

Casino operators in the St. Louis region commented that they are expecting a lot of their patrons to try the casinos. Some casinos in the area are already in the midst of their own renovations to try keep their customers and attract new patrons. The Casino Queen in East St. Louis, Ill., used to operate a riverboat on the Mississippi River but debut a brand new floating gambling complex in August which cost around $92 million.

The Ameristar in St. Louis will debut a nightclub named Home on December 27th where customers can play Xbox, dance and just have fun. The total project cost is $265 million. Harrah's St. Louis, which is located in the suburb of Maryland Heights, has invested in further improving their World Series of Poker room. It has invested a total of $17 million.
