Reopening of Harrah's Grand Biloxi Hotel and Casino After Hurricane Katrina

August 17th at 9:00 p.m proved to be the big night Biloxi was waiting for, with the third level of the casino now accessible for casino goers. The theme is rich and warm with cherry woods and amber hues. The casino players will have a modernist feel at the whole casino.

President of the Central Division of Harrah's Entertainment, Anthony Sanfilippo stated, "We did not want to be a facility that looked like it was rushed or put into place just to begin operations."

The reopened casino houses over 800 h and 28 table games. In the high-limits area there are 75 slot machines and 3 h tables with the bets starting at $25 per hand.

According to Karen Sock, the casino's General Manager, their 1,500 employees are ready for whatever comes their way on the first night.

This reopened casino is somewhat smaller than either of the Grands that operated in Biloxi or Gulfport before Hurricane Katrina, but Sanfilippo assured them that Harrah's has no plan of demolishing the casino.

The amount of the investment for Harrah's to reopen the casino gambling establishment is still undisclosed. Sanfilippo refuses to talk about the money invested. Nonetheless, he assured the public that it's all for the comfort and convenience of their guests.
