The Seneca Cayuga Tribe Presents Plan for Brand New Casino and Hotel

On April 24, 2007, during the Council Meeting that night, the Seneca-Cayuga India Tribe presented a proposal for a new casino and hotel proposal inside the jurisdiction of Grove City.

The proposed gambling casino facility will be built on around 30 acres of lake-front land property located on U.S. Highway 59 in Grove.

The property will include a 100,000 sq ft casino, a 5 story hotel establishment containing 125 rooms, a convention facility that can host around 1,600 guests for different events like concerts and 800 people for sit down meals and other kinds of events. There will also be 3 different restaurants in the place.

Currently, the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe owns and manages the Grand Lake Casino located north of Grove. The Grand Lake Casino currently employs 330 residents of the community.

The new gaming establishment will be named The Grand Lake Casino and Resort and will hire about 450 new employees. The Seneca-Cayuga Tribe wants to begin building the new casino/resort this summer 2007 and is set to open next year.
